Baltimore, MD - Morgan State University Athletics is extending an open invitation to the community for a special celebration of National Girls & Women in Sports Day. The university will host a free youth sports clinic on Saturday, February 7th, at its campus, aiming to inspire young participants through athletic engagement and skill development. The upcoming clinic is specifically tailored for youth between the ages of 5 and 12. Participants will have a unique opportunity to learn fundamental sports skills directly from current Morgan State University student-athletes. Clinic Details and Participating Sports
The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 7th, at Hurt Gymnasium on the Morgan State University campus. Check-in for the clinic will commence at 11:45 a.m., followed by the clinic itself from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Attendance is free of charge, ensuring accessibility for all interested young athletes. A limited number of free T-shirts will also be distributed to clinic participants. The array of sports included in the clinic is diverse, offering a broad introduction to various athletic disciplines. These include Acrobatics & Tumbling, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country/Track & Field, Flag Football, Softball, Tennis, and Volleyball, according to information released by Morgan State University Athletics.
A Day of Athletics Culminating in Basketball Doubleheader
Beyond the fundamental skills clinic, every participant will receive complimentary admission to an exciting doubleheader featuring Morgan State Bears basketball teams. The athletic action continues at Hill Field House, where the Women's Basketball team will face UMES at 2:00 p.m., followed by the Men's Basketball team also competing against UMES at 4:00 p.m. This provides an excellent opportunity for the young attendees to witness collegiate-level competition and further immerse themselves in the spirit of sports.
