D.R. Horton Proposes 238 Homes on Former Harrison Hospital Grounds in Bremerton

Horton, the nation's largest homebuilder by volume, has submitted preliminary planning and development proposals to the City of Bremerton to transform the vacant 9.48-acre former Harrison Memorial Hospital property into a 238-unit residential neighborhood called Harrison Heights.

Internal drive aisles connect directly to designated access points along Cherry Avenue, creating structured vehicle circulation designed to accommodate emergency response apparatus from the Bremerton Fire Department.

The legislative action rebranded what had previously been designated as the Eastside Village subarea, establishing an updated planning framework intended to honor local philanthropists Benjamin and Angie Harrison.

Transportation connectivity positions the Harrison Heights parcel as a highly strategic infill location.

Traffic engineers will also analyze vehicular trip generation models to determine whether new turn pockets or pedestrian signal modifications are necessary along Cherry Avenue.
