Kitsap County Deputies Rescue Woman Trapped in Tesla Pet Mode

Kitsap County sheriff's deputies intervened on Tuesday evening to rescue an elderly woman trapped inside a Tesla that had been placed in "pet safe mode" while parked in high heat.

The grandmother explained to the deputies via the translation app that her granddaughter had left her in the car while she went inside a nearby building.

If an occupant is unaware of these physical backups, they are entirely dependent on the digital interface or an external user to open the doors.

There is a profound difference between the safety requirements for a pet and those for a human occupant.
